  God only hears SOME prayers.....but not all.

  if you are a loser who doesn't know god....but you would like to, and you haven't conformed your life to him, nor fear him yet because you don't know him ....he doesn't listen to you.

  If you were to read it, and pay attention to what is being read, you would see all your questions answered in a direct and powerful manner. It's often a good idea to put questions such as this one in new garb, just as Jim Huber did. Some new clothes on an old broad can work wonders.
  
  Huber answers the claim that the Bible is inspired because it contains some accurate information of a historical nature and of a "scientific" nature with ease and wit. The deaf will never hear, though. There are none so blind as those who will not see.
  
  Jim Huber answers fundy claims and objections with all the gravity and respect these matters deserve. The people who believe them, of course, deserve respect and tolerance, but the views themselves...well...
  
  I was a convinced fundy until I had the courage to start investigating these matters from the other side of the fence. I was an informed fundamentalist, and Aplogetics were a passion. I needed to convince myself and others of the objective reality of biblical religion. Then I began to read the actual material written by the opposition, and the rest is history. Questioning and reading, if you're a fundy, is a dangerous thing to do, since fundyville answers cannot stand up to close scrutiny and probing questions.

  What are JW's leaders going to do when we hit the year 2014 and no Armaggdn

  we are fast approaching the year 2014 which will be 100 years since 1914. what are jw's and the wt going to do if armaggeddon has not occurred by then?

  will they come up with a bunch of "new light" to do away with 1914 all together?

  will they suddenly announce that jesus came into kingdom power in the year 2014?

  I just figured it out.
  
  Just as they came up with a invisible presence of Jesus, they will proclaim that the tribulation and armageddon came and went invisibly, and that we are now living in a spiritual/invisible new world. They will further explain that these invisible happenings are the Heavenly Prototypes of the earthly realities still to come. Just hang in there! This is exactly what they will do.

  They will do what they need to do, and the sheep will continue on sheepishly. The JW religion will eventually go manistream or disappear, but they're still pactically brand new as religions go. The Mormons went through a long period of extreme nuttery before going mainstream.

  Did anything violent happen at the KH or Bookstudy when you were a JW?

  i will never forget when i was a jw and was attending the bookstudy on a mon night a man broke into the bookstudy which was in the elder's garage and pulled out a gun.

  he shot the father of the jw teenage girl he was secretly dating.

  apparently the girl's father had forbidden her to date this non-jw man in his 40's.

  Card of Encouragement From Long-time JW Reeks of Despair

  i happened to see a card a few minutes ago from a jw i grew up with to another jw that we grew up with.

  all of us are in our 50s now, and we've known each other since we were early teens.. the sister who wrote the card has pioneered for decades.

  she's married, but decided to never have kids.

  I agree thats very sad indeed. It would be wonderful if the JW's would all just abandon ship.
  
  I meet the same defeated attitude in plenty of mainstream born-againers though. "One glad morning when this life is over I'll fly away, to a home on God's celestial shore, I'l fly away."
